Arts & Crafts for Kids – Children of all ages participate in theme arts and crafts designs once a week. Program held monthly.
Game Day – Children of all ages participate in game day activities once a week. Program held monthly.
Homework Hotline! – Communicate with a real person who can assist you with any homework question in any subject.
Summer Reading Program
June – August
Children of all ages are encouraged to continue reading during the summer months.
Activities are planned and implemented by Youth Services and Outreach Department.
Preschool Story Hour
January – December
Children 3-5 years, enjoy stories, finger play, music, crafts, and films.
The children are also exposed to color, numbers, alphabets and other simple concepts.
Head start Program
October – May
Children 3 to 5, enjoy stories, finger play, learning colors, numbers alphabets and other simple concepts.
Toddler Time
January – December,
Children 18 months -3 years. Enjoy stories, finger play and songs.
Teen Read Week
National Program designed to encourage reading for Teens @ your library Oct. 2008.
Read Across America Day
Dr. Seuss’ birthday is celebrated with a variety of reading programs. The books written especially for children but loved by all ages are the centerpieces for the celebration. Activities are held in March.
Class Visit
Classes visit the various library locations to enrich classroom activities. Bibliographic instruction, general information, celebration of various holidays, special assignments are examples of library activities covered.
Any teacher in grades 1-4 that is interested in scheduling a class visit may do so between September 10 – 30, 2007.
