East Chicago Public Library to Celebrate National Library Week April 9-15

National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It celebrates the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians, and promotes library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. This year's theme is "Libraries Transform".
The East Chicago Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by offering the following free programs:
Monday, April 10 to Saturday, April 15 National Library Kick off – (Main Library)
Check it and Guess it! A jar of candy will be located at the front desk all day. Throughout the week, each time a patron checks out materials they are eligible to guess the number of candies in the jar. The first correct answer drawn will win the jar of delicious sweets. In addition, during National Library Week the Reference Department is offering the chance to win some awesome pries by answering, “How has the library transformed you?” Entry slips may be picked up at the Reference desk. Drawings will be held on Monday, April 17.
